Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of beloved local farms that produce award-winning meats, cheeses and produce. Start your tour at a working goat farm that makes a variety of artisanal cheeses and enjoy a unique farmer-led tasting of the cheeses. Stop by a local farmstand and shop a selection of seasonal offerings – from crisp salad greens to beautiful flowers. End your tour with a guided visit of a fifth-generation beef and pork farm that traces its origins to the 19th century days of hog drovers and has since become a modern-day leader in regenerative farming. Enjoy a local charcuterie platter for lunch at your second stop.
This tour is a great introduction to Western North Carolina farms and can help cultivate a deeper appreciation for our local food scene. Ideal for both residents and tourists who are curious about the region’s thriving agriculture community.
